Fun Science!

Vanished: “What is Vanished? Vanished is an 8-week online/offline mystery game for middle-school children, meant to inspire engagement and problem solving through science. Developed and curated by MIT’s Education Arcade and the Smithsonian Institution, VANISHED is a first-of-its-kind experience where participants become investigators racing to solve puzzles and other online challenges, visit museums and collect samples from their neighborhoods to help unlock the secrets of the game. Vanished also provides a unique opportunity for players to collaborate Smithsonian scientists, MIT students, and their peers online. Players can only solve the mystery by using real scientific methods and knowledge to unravel the game’s secrets.”

Welcome, welcome, welcome!

Hello, Parents and Students!

2010-11 is going to be an awesome year of fun, challenges, and growth in our ILA courses. As a parent and teacher, being able to be a part of the changes that my children and students undergo from August to June is amazing and a privilege.

As the year progresses, this site will be the warehouse of each student’s body of work. Gone will be the days of “I left it in my locker, my binder, my kitchen table”!

Bookmark this blog and your student’s blog so that you can check them out daily to see what your child is learning. It’s amazing the work they produce!

P.S.: I thought you might like to see a video that really encapsulates my philosophy and beliefs about education, one which I’ve practiced and studied for numerous years.
